The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Wednesday said that Bharatiya Janata Party’s Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi too represents the present corrupt political system and not change.

“He (Narendra Modi) too represents the present corrupt political system of parties like Congress and BJP. On the other hand Arvind Kejriwal represents the alternative,” said AAP leader Prashant Bhushan in a press conference organised in Mumbai. He was asked who will be the prime ministerial candidate of AAP.

“Any Aam Aadmi can become a Prime Minister. We have a number of faces who are suitable for that post. But our party is not going to make any announcement on it now,” he said.

Rejecting that the regional parties can give an alternative in the present political system, he said that only AAP has the capability to change the system. “It is impossible for regional parties to give an alternative that AAP can give. The regional parties are extremely corrupt and only we have the potential to change the system,” he said.

Earlier, AAP’s National Executive member Mayank Gandhi had launched an attack on Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) calling it one of the most corrupt parties in the country.

Mr. Bhushan said that his party is ready to contest Lok Sabha elections in 2014 and AAP has decided to field as many candidates as possible in Maharashtra. The state has 48 seats.

“We invite nominations from all non-corrupt, non-criminal and non-communal individuals who are committed to Indian constitution and the ideals of our party,” he said.

In Maharashtra, AAP is said to be in talks with Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghatna (SSS). Mr. Bhushan said that the SSS should either talk with AAP or with BJP and Shiv Sena. “They should come clean with their stand on alliance. It won’t help if they continue talking to both of us,” he clarified.

While commenting on the results of Delhi assembly elections, he said the results have smashed the arrogance of corrupt parties. He said that the party in Delhi has formed 30 expert committees on 30 different issues and all the reports will be placed against the people for their opinions.
