Manipur People's Party MLA Okram Joy has demanded the resignation of the Sports and Irrigation and Flood Control Minister N. Biren. He should own moral responsibility for the alleged murder of a youth by his son N. Ajay.
Ajay and four others were arrested for killing Irom Rozer on Sunday following a quarrel on the road over overtaking of a vehicle during a Holi joy ride.
Mr. Joy was speaking during a general discussion on the concluding day of the budget session on Friday.
Replying to the demand, Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh said that since the accused were in custody it would be subjudice to make comments. He, however, said the law would take its own course.
