Kiren Rijju, Minister of State for Home, on Saturday mooted the setting up of a professionally managed counterterrorism school in the country.

Speaking at the conclusion of the International Counter Terrorism Conference-2015 here, Mr. Rijiju asked stakeholders to deliberate upon collaborations to counter global terrorism. The challenges of countering terrorism are increasing daily and we have to be ready to control the situation, he said.

“Police forces and other stakeholders need to be trained to counter terrorism. The response to terror activities would range from high technology to simple means,” he said.

The proposal for setting up a counterterrorism school was welcomed by the Rajasthan Director General of Police (DGP) Manoj Bhatt who said such a academy would help the State as well. Mr. Rijiju said terrorism should be treated as a challenge to human kind and the global community would have to come together to counter it.
