Milky feat: Murrah buffalo yields 31.32 kg

A Murrah buffalo belonging to Dharam Pal Nagar, a cattle breeder of Neemka village in Faridabad district of Haryana, has set a new record by yielding 31.320 kg of milk in a day.

An official spokesman of the Haryana Animal Husbandry and Dairying Department said here on Monday that this was “the highest ever yield of milk by a Murrah buffalo in the State’’.

He said the buffalo was milked in the presence of the SDM , senior officials, a senior veterinary doctor and the village Sarpanch in a competition organised in Faridabad.

The competition is organised every year to promote breeding of Murrah buffaloes. “Murrah is the best breed of buffaloes and Haryana is known to be the home of this breed,” the spokesman added.
