Militant hideout unearthed in Anantnag

Security forces unearthed a militant hideout in Anantnag district of south Kashmir, recovering a cache of arms and ammunition, police said on Wednesday.

A team of security forces launched a search operation in Larnoo forest area of Kokernag in Anantnag on Tuesday following information about presence of an arms dump in the area, a police official said.

He said during the searches, a militant hideout was unearthed leading to recovery of arms and ammunition.

The recoveries included one AK rifle, four AK magazines, 35 AK rounds, eight hand grenades, 10 RPG rounds and six UBGL rounds.
