Acting on a tip off that militants were planning to carry out attacks on security forces, police and troops of 12 Rashtriya Rifles launched a cordon and search operation in Taparwan Pogal area of Banihal tehsil and recovered arms and ammunition from a hideout last night, they said.

An AK-56 rifle, one magazine, 75 AK rounds, 16 Pika rounds, two Chinese grenades and five UBGL grenades were recovered from the hideout.
