Militant hideout busted

Security forces on Sunday busted a militant hideout, seizing a large cache of explosive material and ammunition, including six mines, in Kupwara district of North Kashmir, a police spokesman said.

The hideout was busted by a joint search party of police, 21 Rashtriya Rifles and 125th battalion of the CRPF in the forest area of Nagarnar, 95 km from here, the spokesman said.

He said the search of the hideout led to the recovery of six mines with 10 fuses, four mine chargers, 12 grenades, two loaded ammunition belts of General Purpose Machine Gun, five AK magazines and three pistol magazines with 14 rounds.

No one was arrested during the operation, the spokesman added.
