Maoists on Monday destroyed two mobile phone towers of a private company in Bihar's Aurangabad district.

They blew up a tower at Jaihind Tendua and set another ablaze at Jantua during the ‘Bihar bandh' they called to protest the death of Madan Yadav, a naxalite, in police custody last week, Superintendent of Police Sidharth Mohan Jain said.

About 10 militants stormed into the villages and asked the guards to flee before destroying the towers, he said.

Arun Kumar, in charge of the Barun police station, has been suspended for the death of the militant, Mr. Jain said.
