Abductors of Biju Janata Dal legislator Jhina Hikaka on Sunday issued a communication asking his wife to reach a village in Koraput district on Tuesday along with 30 prisoners for his release.

In a letter sent to a section of the media, the Andhra Odisha Border Special Zonal Committee of the CPI (Maoist) asked Mr. Hikaka's wife Kaushalya to reach Balipeta in the Narayanpatna area. She should reach the place along with 30 persons, including 23 people, whose release the State government had decided to facilitate.

The outfit said she should be accompanied by B.D. Sharma and Dandapani Mohanty, who were interlocutors for the release of Italian tour operator Bosusco Paolo. The Maoists said they would release Mr. Hikaka if the team reached the village without any police or intelligence officials.
