Suspected Maoists blew up a railway track in Bokaro district in Jharkhand early on Monday.
“After enforcing a day-long shutdown, Maoists blasted a railway track between Yogeshwar and Dania railway stations. The service between Yogeshwar and Chenpur was also disrupted,” Superintendent of Police Saket Singh told The Hindu .
“One metre of the track was damaged. At the Dania railway station the Maoists took away the walkie-talkie of the station master and the keys of the level crossing gate,” Mr. Singh said.
In another incident, the rebels blew up the track near the Maiel station in Ramgarh district. No casualties were reported, Mr. Singh said.
The Maoists also burnt down two tractors near the Kasmara police station.
