A large number of Maoist posters, demanding immediate halt of anti-Maoist operation in Jangalmahal area, were today found in Nadia district, police said.

Villagers found these strewn around in Shib Niwas on Monday morning, around 22 km from the district headquarters town, they said.

The villagers informed the police about the posters.

The posters alleged that the joint-security forces in the name of ‘Operation Green Hunt’ was committing atrocities against innocent poor and tribal people in the Jangalmahal area (West Midnapore, Bankura and Purulia districts).
