Maoist killed, CoBRA commando injured in Chhattisgarh encounter

A Maoist was killed and a CoBRA (Commando Battalion for Resolute Action) commando was injured in a face-off between the security forces and the Maoists in Sukma district of south Chhattisgarh on Tuesday.

The encounter took place near Chintagufa village of Sukma when a team of 206 battalion of the CoBRA was out on a combing operation.

The CoBRA team managed to recover the dead body of a Maoist and an SLR (Self Loading Rifle) with two magazines.

CoBRA commando Satpal was injured in the encounter which lasted for more than an hour.

He was airlifted from Chintagufa police camp and was admitted to Maharani Hopital in Jagadalpur district headquarters of Bastar, informed Sukma police.
