At least 16 persons died and over a dozen were injured when a Farukkhabad-bound bus overturned after hitting a divider in Mainpuri on Wednesday.

The double-decker bus was coming from Jaipur in Rajasthan. Mainpuri SP A.S. Rai said looking at the way the bus overturned, it must have been tavelling at a high speed.

While the injured are receiving treatment in various hospitals, the other passengers were sent towards their destination in another bus, Mainpuri police said.
