Man’s eye damaged for taking part in strike

A brick kiln worker’s eye was damaged when alleged Trinamool Congress supporters attacked him for failing to report to work on Wednesday, the first day of the two-day nationwide strike called by central trade unions. The incident took place in Kulpi in West Bengal’s South 24 Parganas district. “Trinamool Congress workers attacked my father. His eye has been completely damaged,” Sabitri Sardar, the victim’s daughter told journalists on Friday.
