Lawyers in Manipur, who started court boycott on Monday to demand action against the Minister who had allegedly wounded Advocate-General Nongmeikappam Koteswor in “accidental firing,” ended the protest on Thursday, citing inconvenience to litigants.
At a meeting here, the advocates formed a committee comprising members of the High Court Bar Association and the All-Manipur Bar Association to monitor what action the government takes in the matter and to chalk out the future course of action.
The identity of the 10 members has not been disclosed.
As for the reports that the police have opened a suo motu case in the March 6 shooting, the lawyers said they were yet to receive anything from the government.
