Man held with bombs outside U.P. Raj Bhavan

A man was arrested here after he tried to enter the Raj Bhavan in a car allegedly with three crude bombs on Saturday.

Ranjit Sharma was arrested on finding the bombs, the police said. He was stopped at Gate 2 of the Raj Bhavan for security check, when the police found the bombs along with some material he was to deliver to the Horticulture Department for a flower show on the Bhavan premises from February 21.

Police sources said the accused, a contractor, claimed the bombs were crackers meant for a wedding.
