Pune: The Pune police have arrested a 24-year-old man for allegedly trying to take photographs of a woman while she was using a washroom.

The incident happened Tuesday night. The accused, Rajkumar Rajbahadur Yadav, hailing from Bihar, worked in the housekeeping section of World Trade Centre in Kharadi, which houses the office of the private firm where the woman worked.

According to the Chandan Nagar police, Yadav hid in a ladies’ washroom in the building and attempted to secretly click pictures of the woman with a mobile phone through a gap between the washroom wall and the ceiling.

When the woman noticed the phone, she demanded the accused to come out, but Yadav pushed her and fled. However, he was overpowered by the security guards of the building. The officials of the firm then alerted the police.

“[Yadav] has been booked under Section 354(c) [voyeurism] of the Indian Penal Code (IPC),” a police officer said.
