Malegaon blast accused Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur has been shifted to the Nashik road central jail from a city—based hospital where she was undergoing treatment, sources said on Tuesday.

Sadhvi, who was being treated for spinal problems at Ayurveda Seva Sangh hospital, was shifted to the central jail on Monday night, citing security reasons, hospital sources told PTI.

During her hospitalisation, former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Uma Bharti and spiritual leader Asaram Bapu had visited Sadhvi seeking court’s permission.

The Malegaon blast accused’s bail plea was rejected by the Bombay High Court last week after hearing her lawyers’ argument that she had been illegally detained before her formal arrest on October 23, 2008.
