Maharashtra Home Minister R. R. Patil on Monday said that the State government was in contact with the Central investigative agencies over the disappearance of four young men from the State who have allegedly joined the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) militants in the war in Iraq.

“Yes, it is true that the four youth are missing... there are missing complaints in Kalyan [Thane]. There are also reports they may have been indoctrinated [and recruited] into the ISIS. We have shared our information with the Central agencies,” Mr. Patil informed in Satara.

He said that the State government had shared all necessary information with the Central agencies and was cooperating at every possible step.

The Maharashtra police are investigating the four separate missing complaints filed by the parents of the youth, identified as Arif Fayyaz Majeed, Aman Naik Tandel, Shaheed Farooqui Tanki and Fahad Tanvir Sheikh.
