Three bogies of an empty local train derailed in neighbouring Thane on Wednesday, disrupting services on the Central line.

“The train, which was empty, was going towards Karjat from Thane yard when three of its bogies jumped off the track,” Central Railway PRO A.K. Jain said.

No injury has been reported, he said.

All local trains on the slow line between Thane and suburban Mulund have been diverted to the fast track, Mr. Jain said, adding trains are running late by 30 minutes on the track as the restoration work is still on.
