LeT militant arrested in J&K

A self-styled district commander of Lashkar-e-Toiba, who was involved in several attacks on security forces, was arrested from north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, officials said today.

On a tip off, security forces arrested Mohammad Shafi Dar alas Ukasha from Ningli forests of Sopore in Baramulla district, 65 kms from here, yesterday.

An AK rifle, three magazines and some explosives were recovered from the possession of the LeT commander, they said.

The arrest of Dar is considered as a major breakthrough by security forces as he was involved in several attacks on security forces, politicians and civilians in Sopore area.
