Panic gripped Madra area of Basar Patti in Ghansali of Tehri Garhwal district in Uttarakhand after a leopard carried away a four-year-old girl. Aanchal was playing in the courtyard of her house on Saturday evening.
Second incident
This is the second such incident in the last one month.
The leopard dragged her and vanished into the jungle. The girl's mother and grandmother shouted for help. The child could not be traced till Sunday afternoon.
‘Evoked no response ’
Residents have urged the District Magistrate to ensure safety from the big cats who had taken to killing kids or attacking women in the area. ‘Repeated appeals to the forest authorities had evoked no response,' the villagers said.
