The former Gujarat Director-General of Police, R.B. Sreekumar, has accused the Left Democratic Front and the United Democratic Front of joining hands with communal forces for political gains.

Addressing a meet-the-press organised by the Trivandrum Press Club here on Monday, Mr. Sreekumar said the Bharatiya Janata Party and the People's Democratic Party were two sides of the same coin and the rival fronts had joined hands with the parties for political gains.

He accused the Special Investigation Team probing the Gujarat riots of failing to consider the evidence furnished by him. As per the law, it was not mandatory to record his statements.

To move court

Mr. Sreekumar said he was planning to approach the Supreme Court. If justice was not delivered to the riot victims, it would be a let-down of the moderate members of the minority community, he said.
