At least 10 people have died in Himachal Pradesh in the last 24 hours after heavy rains caused landslips.
Some Congress leaders, including Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, campaigning in Sangla Valley, are among the over 1,500 people stranded due to the landslips.
Five members of a family, including three children, were buried alive early on Monday after boulders fell on their house at Chagaon village near Tapri, some 220 km from State capital Shimla, according to police. The family was sleeping when the incident occurred.
Five other people have also died due to landslips and other storm-related reasons in the district since the weekend.
