Naxalites on Friday triggered a landmine blast, killing three Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) jawans in Chhattisgarh’s Rajnandgaon district.

“Naxals blew up a police vehicle in which ITBP jawans were travelling near their base camp at Kohka village in the district,” Rajnandgaon Superintendent of Police, B.L. Meena told PTI.

The incident occurred when the security men were returning from neighbouring Maharashtra, he said.

While three ITBP jawans were killed, one was injured, he said.

Efforts are underway to shift the injured to the hospital, Mr. Meena said, adding extra police force has been rushed to the spot.
