Lalu gets bail in 2009 model code violation case

RJD president Lalu Prasad was today granted bail by a Bihar Court in connection with a case charging him with violating model code of conduct in 2009 Lok Sabha polls.

Judicial Magistrate (Danapur) L Prasad allowed his plea for regular bail.

The court had earlier summoned Mr. Prasad for appearing before it in connection with the case registered with Danapur police station.

Mr. Prasad appeared in person before it this afternoon and furnished a bail bond of Rs. five thousand and a surety of the same amount for bail.

Mr. Prasad has been charged with moving in a convoy of vehicles in Danapur during the 2010 Lok Sabha polls when he was Railway Minister which was violative of the model code.
