After addressing a meeting in South 24 Parganas district, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee visited the ancestral house on her way back to Kolkata on Monday night and paid tribute to the freedom fighter.
Ms Banerjee assured the villagers that the State government would initiate steps to designate the building as a heritage property.
