Lone surviving gunman of 26/11 attacks Mohammad Ajmal Amir Kasab, now lodged in the Arthur Road Jail here, has been served a copy of the Supreme Court judgment upholding his death sentence.

“He was given a copy of the order four days ago,” a jail official told The Hindu on the phone.

On August 29, the court confirmed the death sentence awarded by the trial court and affirmed by the Bombay High Court, for waging war against India.

There is no news yet on Kasab’s next course of action; whether he intends to file a mercy petition.
