Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has said that steps have been taken by the government to create job opportunities for the youth.
Mr. Yadav felt that if the youth became capable enough and earned a livelihood then the State and the country would make rapid strides in progress and development.
Speaking at a function to mark the handing over of appointment letters to 100 girls trained under the aegis of Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission (UPSDM) at his residence here on Monday, Mr. Yadav expressed satisfaction that the Mission was being gradually associated with the private sector.
In addition to the appointment letters , he gave away laptops to 50 students of 12 government colleges associated with Bharat Abyudya Foundation (BAF).
Six teachers were honoured on the occasion. The laptops were given to encourage them for pursuing their studies.
Mr. Yadav said about one lakh boys and girls in the age group of 14-35 have been given free registration and employment- generated trained under the different courses.
The Chief Minister lauded the suggestions from the students and said that this initiative would help them in becoming self-reliant.
Mr. Yadav said efforts would be made to overcome the problems the students faced in pursuit of their education.
