J&K schools to remain closed today

April 21, 2017 12:27 am | Updated 12:27 am IST - Srinagar

Student demonstrations against “police excesses” at the Pulwama Degree College in J&K on April 15 continued for the fourth consecutive day on Thursday, forcing the authorities to close down higher secondary schools too, besides colleges, on Friday.

Meanwhile, influential Kashmir University Students Union (KUSU) called for “resumption of class work.”

“Resume classes after a successful display of resistance, unity and valour,” said a spokesman of the KUSU.

A Srinagar-based police spokesman said miscreants and some students of the Government Higher Secondary School Nawakadal pelted stones on the security forces camp at Braripora Nawakadal.
