Jharkhand Chief Minister and BJP leader Raghuvar Das has joined the fray in poll-bound Bihar, flaying both Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for dragging Bihar into a mess in the last 25-years. He appealed to the people to vote for the BJP in the upcoming Assembly poll for development and good governance.
“Both the leaders Lalu Prasad and Nitish Kumar are arrogant leaders and it is because of their arrogance that Bihar has slipped into a complete mess in the last 25-years, charged Jharkhand CM Raghuvar Das while addressing a meeting of his caste men “Teli-Sahu Samaj” in Patna on Sunday.
Only difference
While flaying both Nitish Kumar and Lalu Prasad, Mr. Das said the only difference between the two leaders was that while one’s politics has been revolving around his family, trying to ensure that his sons and daughters are “somehow sent to the State legislature,” the other has been pursuing individual-centric politics for “self promotion.”
“Nitish Kumar is an ambitious person and arrogant too. He betrayed the huge mandate given to the NDA in 2010 assembly elections because he nursed an ambition to become the Prime Minister,” declared the Jharkhand Chief Minister.
“How can we forget that he had resigned from the post of chief minister after being defeated in the Lok Sabha poll, but after some time his real face was exposed when he removed a Mahadalit CM from the post and usurped power once again,” said Mr Das.
Before coming to address the audience, Mr. Das also visited the local Hanuman temple and offered puja. Senior State BJP leaders Sushil Kumar Modi, Nand Kishore Yadav and others were present on the occasion.
Party sources told The Hindu that a group of BJP workers and leaders would also visit Bihar soon for poll campaign.
Meanwhile, the ruling party Janata Dal (United) took umbrage at Mr. Das slamming Nitish Kumar. The Jharkhand CM should explain why his government has placed a ban on people from Bihar taking up jobs in his state, said JD (U) leader Neeraj Kumar.
“Before making a comment on Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar he (Mr. Das) should look at himself and his government first…what Nitish Kumar has done for Bihar has been appreciated world over and it does not require his (Mr. Das) expert comment on it”, said the JD (U) leader.
