JCO killed in encounter

A Junior Commissioned Officer has been killed in an encounter between the Army's elite commando group and Lashkar-e-Taiba militants in Bandipora of north Kashmir. Three security personnel sustained injuries.

The terrorists, who sneaked in through the Gurez sector, were spotted by the police at Adhwatoo. The Army was called in subsequently. The victim was Naib Subedar Mahindra Kumar. The gunfight has been raging for 20 hours.
