Jats drop proposed stir

Two organisations representing Jats in Haryana have dropped their plan to blockade Delhi, in pursuit of their demand for reservation in educational institutions and government jobs, following assurances from Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda.

Mr. Hooda promised to address the issue, when Hawa Singh Sangwan, president of the Haryana unit of the All India Jat Aarakshan Samiti and Nafe Singh Nain of the Sarv Jat Khap Aarakshan Samiti met him on Monday.
