Jaipur police file rape case against IAS officer

The Jaipur Police on Saturday registered a criminal case against senior IAS officer B. B. Mohanty on a complaint alleging rape of a 22-year-old girl, said to be his neighbour.

The First Information Report was registered at the Mahesh Nagar police station here on the orders of the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate No. 30, before whom the B.Tech student had filed her complaint. The FIR was registered under Sections 376 (rape) and 354 (assault with intent to outrage a woman’s modesty) of the Indian Penal Code. The complaint said Mr. Mohanty had established physical relations with the girl on February 19 last on the pretext of getting her selected in the IAS examinations.
