Irate mob set fire to Army's Goodwill School in Kashmir

About 500 people set fire to the Army's Goodwill School at Hajan,in Bandipore district of North Kashmir, on Monday to protest against the death of two youth in Army firing on Sunday. The mob shouted slogans against the security forces.

Reports said that a portion of the complex was damaged in the fire, which was brought under control by afternoon.

A J&K police spokesman, however, said that the building suffered only slight damage.

Defence spokesman Naresh Vig told The Hindu that a part of the school suffered "extensive damage."
