A one-and-half-year-old boy fell into a 20-foot-deep pit dug by the Electricity Department at Chkuma here on Sunday evening.
The pit was dug for some earthing work.
Besides a rescue team, fire, medical and police personnel have reached the spot. Oxygen is being supplied through a pipe to the child, identified as Sachin, Chief Medical Office Parveen Garg said.
A CCTV camera has been lowered into the pit, which showed the child was conscious, he said.
The incident comes six days after rescuers pulled out four-year-old Mahi dead from a 70-foot-deep borewell near Manesar, where she was trapped for four days.

I wonder how many more cases are to happen before Govt;takes steps to prevent recurrence agian and again. Can they not warn and make it a life imprisonment case against those causing the neglgence. Why is it not fenced properly to prvent people faliing into it??. It is sheer negligence.
When is this going to stop?such events have already claimed life of so many innocents and our administration is still in deep slumber and they are not going to open their eyes to such instances which is so trivial for them unless on of our so called "Man-niye" also get a tour of such pit or well.
How careless are the people of the Electricity Department? They dug a dangerous hole and did not barricade it. If this happened in the UK and USA the electricity department could have been sued for several million dollars for this reckless act.
