Illegal colony sites raided in Gurgaon, nine held

A team of the Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) and the Chandigarh district administration on Wednesday raided over half-a-dozen sites where illegal colonies were allegedly being developed, official sources said.

Nine persons , who were allegedly involved in the unauthorised colony racket, were arrested, the sources said.

FIR ordered

The MCG Commissioner, Rajesh Khullar, and the Deputy Commissioner, Rajender Kataria, have ordered lodging of a First Information Report against the arrested persons.

When Mr. Khullar along with other officers raided an illegal colony site at old Delhi road, the persons there tried to escape. However, they were nabbed by the police, an official spokesman said here.
