Dissatisfied with the findings of the Internal Complaints Committee of IIT-Bhubaneswar, a PhD scholar renewed her allegation of sexual harassment against a professor at the Insititute and demanded a re-investigation into the matter.

The scholar, who belongs to West Bengal, got married while her husband and she were pursuing research under the same professor. She alleged that asshe had objected to the professor’s overtures, their PhDs were de-registered on feeble grounds.

The scholar had first lodged a complaint in October 2016. The ICC of IIT, Bhubaneswar, heard the case and subsequently exonerated the accused professor in January this year.

Responding to the allegation, the Odisha Skill Development and Technical Education Department (OSKTED) asked the IIT to furnish a detailed report.
