Private sector insurer ICICI Prudential on Saturday said it has eased claim settlement requirements for Uttarakhand flood victims.

The company would accept the list issued by hospitals or police or armed forces in case a municipal death certificate is not available, it said in a statement.

The company has also come out with a 24-hour helpline number to assist claimants with information on making claims.

“As an Insurance company, we will fulfil the promise made to our policyholders by ensuring that these claims are settled in the shortest possible time. We have eased our claims process for the claimants,” ICICI Pru Life Chief of Branch Operations Kalpana Sampat said.

Earlier, insurance behemoth LIC and another private sector player Bajaj Allianz also had announced easing the claim settlement norms for flash flood victims.
