“I have more information about the people arrested, but I will not reveal it at this point as their accomplices, who are still at large, may benefit from it, ” Maharashtra Home Minister R.R. Patil told journalists here on Sunday on the arrests of two suspected terrorists by the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad in Mumbai.

Asked whether the two had any links to the German Bakery blast, Mr. Patil said, “We will tell that at the appropriate time.” He admitted that the investigation into the German Bakery blast was indeed taking time as the terrorists had done a clean job of covering their tracks.

However, he said all Central, State and local investigation agencies were conducting the probe in a committed manner. “The final victory will be of the police and the people of Pune.”

“In the past, when there were bomb blasts in Ahmedabad, Surat and Rajasthan [in 2006], the culprits were eventually nabbed by the Maharashtra police.”

He said this after inaugurating India's first open jail for women at the Yerawada Central prison here.
