The Bharatiya Janata Party on Sunday demanded a high-level inquiry into the Naxal attack in Gadchiroli which killed seven policemen and grievously injured two.
Opposition leader in the State Legislative Council Vinod Tawade slammed the intelligence agencies for failing to prevent the attack. He said the Home Affairs Ministry failed miserably by not anticipating retaliation for the arrest of Professor G.N. Saibaba for suspected Maoist links.
Mr. Tawade demanded that a permanent framework to prevent Naxal attacks be put in place.
