December 02, 2015 03:53 am | Updated March 24, 2016 01:19 pm IST - AHMEDABAD:

In a partial reprieve to the Patel agitation leader Hardik Patel, the Gujarat High Court on Tuesday dropped the charge of treason or “waging war against the government” while allowing the sedition and conspiracy charges on him and his aides who are incarcerated.

The court held that the accused persons, including the 22-year-old Hardik, who spearheaded a highly-charged agitation that turned violent in which 10 persons, including a police constable, were killed in August, can be probed for conspiracy and sedition charges as brought by the police in the FIR.
