Adarsh: HC asks govt. if it will table report in winter session

November 28, 2013 07:14 pm | Updated November 17, 2021 05:34 am IST - Mumbai:

The Bombay High Court on Thursday asked the Maharashtra government to inform it by December 5 whether it would table the Adarsh report in the winter session of the legislature to be held next month in Nagpur.

“The Division Bench of Justices V.M. Kanade and M.K. Sonak said this after the government pleader made a suo motu statement that he would take directions from the government about whether it intended to table the report in the winter session beginning on December 9,” Ganesh Sovani, advocate for two BJP leaders who moved the petition, said.

Yogesh Amrutlal Sagar and Atul Shah filed the petition a fortnight ago seeking the court’s intervention to direct the government to table the report in the Assembly. A two-member commission appointed by the government submitted a report in April. It has not yet been made public.“This Hon’ble Court may be pleased to issue a writ of an appropriate nature, including the Writ of Mandamus and / or a direction or an order, directing the Respondents to table the Commission of Enquiry Report concerning Adarsh CHS Ltd., Mumbai before both the Houses of the State Legislature forthwith,” the petition stated.

The court will hear the matter on December 5.
