The Madhya Pradesh High Court has allowed the National Investigation Agency to question Sadhvi Pragnya Singh Thakur in connection with the murder of former RSS pracharak Sunil Joshi.
However, the division bench of Justice Rakesh Saxena and Justice S C Sinho, on Thursday evening passed an order conditionally allowing the NIA to question the Sadhvi.
The condition laid down by the HC is that the Sadhvi would be questioned only in the presence of her counsel R.N. Singh.
Earlier, a special NIA court had allowed the agency to question Ms. Thakur and submit a report last month. However, the questioning was delayed as she moved the HC claiming the Madhya Pradesh police had already chargesheeted her in the same case and therefore the NIA could not be allowed to do the same.
The NIA is investigating her in Bhopal for her role in the Sunil Joshi murder case. However, she is also being probed across border under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) for her alleged role in the Samjhauta Express train blasts, along with bomb blasts at Malegaon and Ajmer.
