Security forces arrested a hardcore Maoist, involved in 11 cases, from Sishani village in East Champaran district on Sunday and recovered a pistol and some ammunition from him.

Acting on a tip off, the police and the CRPF in a joint operation apprehended Nathuni Sah with a sophisticated pistol and nine rounds of ammunition, Additional SP (Operation), Sanjay Kumar said.

Sah was wanted in connection with 11 cases of bank loot, murder, dacoity and Naxal-related violence in East Champaran and neighbouring Sitamarhi districts, he said.

His arrest came a day after the security forces arrested a self-styled Naxal area-commander Chhabila Sahni alias Mushar Sahni from a hideout under Mufassil police station area in East Champaran district, Mr. Kumar said.
