Hardcore Naxal arrested in UP

An alleged hardcore Naxal Jagjivan Kol alias Vijay Yadav with a cash reward of Rs. 20,000 on his head was arrested in Sonebhadra district of Uttar Pradesh in the early hours on Saturday.

Jagjivan Kol (28), an active member of Rambali Kharvar gang, was arrested from near Naraindeeh Rapta Chalka culvert under Chopan police station area, police in Lucknow said.

A carbine and cartridges were seized from Jagjivan Kol, who belongs to Rohtas district of Bihar, they said.

Jagjivan Kol frequently visited the district to motivate tribal youths to join his gang, according to police.
