The mortal remains of Odia actor and director Hara Patnaik were consigned to flames at Satichoura crematorium here on Wednesday as hundreds of his fans, film stars, friends and relatives bid him an emotional farewell.
The popular actor’s nephew Anirudh lit the funeral pyre in presence of Patnaik’s two daughters -- Arya and Ananya.
The 57-year-old actor, who was suffering from blood cancer for the past several years, had breathed his last in a private hospital at Bhubaneswar on Tuesday. Later the body was brought here to his house at Tulasipur where hundreds of his fans, film personalities and other eminent persons paid their last respects to the departed soul.
