Goods train derails at Ukshi; Konkan route affected

The railway traffic on Konkan Railway route came to a grinding halt on Monday morning after a goods train derailed at Ukshi station, near a tunnel between Sangameshwar and Nivsar in Maharashtra.

Trains such as Dadar-Sawantwad passenger, Janashatabdi, Rajdhani Express were halted at different areas, including Konkan and Goa.

Mumbai bound Margao-Mumbai Mandovi Express has been cancelled, a spokesperson of Konkan Railway Corporation told The Hindu on Monday.

He said that the status of various trains would be made available to the passengers by 12.30 pm on Monday.
