Goa Police launches SOS app

The Goa Police launched a mobile application for helping citizens to reach out for instant help in times of emergency, easily access Goa Police, and to add to the overall vigilance in the state.

A spokesperson of Goa police on Monday said that it is an effort to build a simple yet effective platform for users to reach out or source for help in times of an emergency through the touch of a button.

Stating that it would increase the vigilance in the State through a crowd-sourced model and help users coordinate with Goa Police easily, the spokesperson said, “ We strongly recommend the citizens as well as visitors of the State to use this application and help Goa Police in ensuring a safer Goa”.

Elaborating the use of the mobile application, he said that it would help to provide users with basic information about Goa Police, its structure, its units and safety tips. Moreover , it will enable Goa Police to reach out and update the citizens from time to time with vital information.

The application is developed by Karbens Infotech Pvt. Ltd. and is supported by Manipal Hospital, Goa, as the latter’s social responsibility initiative.

The app can be downloaded from >Google Playstore and >iTunes.
