Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party national convener Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday alleged that Goa Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar was defending his brother-in-law in a bribery case.

Dilip Malavankar, working for State-run Goa Industrial Development Corporation, was caught last year while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs. one lakh for allotment of land in Tuem Industrial Estate. He was recently reinstated even as the Anti-Corruption Bureau is investigating the case against him.

Speaking at an event in Calangute, Mr. Kejriwal alleged that by showing leniency to his kin the Chief Minister was sending a message that there were two different rules for the people in the State.

The Delhi Chief Minister said: "Not only his brother-in-law has been caught red handed taking bribe but no action has been taken even when there is proof of his brother-in-law having assets disproportionate to his known source of income. What does it indicate?”

The Goa unit of the AAP has given a deadline to the Chief Minister over the issue and has warned of agitation if action is not taken.
